Why Northstar started
Northstar began in 2016 when two teachers from the neighbourhood noticed how many kids went home to an empty house after school. We opened a room, set out snacks and helped with homework.
Today we walk children over from three nearby schools, make sure homework gets done, then finish the day with a club — robotics, art, chess — or tutoring in math and English.
We keep groups small so every child is known by name. Come visit before you enrol.

Co-founder · Math
Taught Grade 7 math in North York for eleven years before Northstar. Runs math tutoring and the chess club, and still marks every quiz by hand.
Mr. Okafor
Co-founder · English
A high-school English teacher for nine years. Leads the reading groups and essay coaching, and the art club on Fridays.

Spring term enrolment
Spring classes started April 6. Seats were held for returning students until March 20.
Visiting & ordering

Everything happens at the centre: 2nd floor, above the pharmacy at Bayview & Sheppard. After-school pickup is until 6 pm; workbooks are handed out in class.
Refund policy
A month's tuition is refunded in full before its second class, and for the classes left after that. Courses are refunded until their second session.
Cancellation policy
To stop next month, tell us by the 25th. Class times can be switched any time there is a seat.
